We took advantage of J’s more flexible work schedule, at least at this time of the year, and headed to Whidbey Island on Wednesday afternoon to explore and spend time with family for a few days.  There was beach hiking, with lots of climbing, counting all of the Lion’s Mane jellyfish, spotting the baby jellies from the bulkhead at dusk.  Z hung out with his great-grandma GG and tried to lure the bunnies in the yard by slowly approaching them with food.

On Friday, we hiked over to Waterman Rock, an erratic glacier in the Saratoga Woods.  It’s a favorite spot for the whole family.  Lots of grasshoppers in the meadow, a woodpecker, and the sounds of many red squirrels.
